Pre-drilling: Pre-drilling is usually required for hardwoods. Smart-Bit Pre-drilling and Countersinking Tools are specifically designed to work together with Headcote 305 and 316 (as well as Starborn's Deckfast 305 and 316 deck screws) to create the perfect hole and perfect fit every time.

Perfectly Set Fasteners: To achieve a clean and uniform appearance, with screws set at a perfect and consistent depth below the surface, use the new Smart-Bit Deck Screw Depth Setter.

Corrosion Information: Approved for use with ACQ treated lumber. For applications exposed to salt air, near large bodies of water, swimming pools or other areas where corrosion is more likely to occur, always use Grade 316 stainless steel screws (like Deckfast Stainless 316 or Headcote 316). For more detailed information about corrosion, see the corrosion information page.

When Headcote color-matched deck screws were first released, the synthetic-decking market had only a limited number of color choices, so the manufacturer offered customers only five screw colors: black, brown, tan, gray, and white. To keep up with the wider variety of decking now available, Headcote has expanded its line to include 10 new color-head stainless-steel deck screws.
